Privacy Policy
What MCS collects when you play, visit this site or use our Discord bot, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
The short version
- We collect what it takes to run the server: your Minecraft name and ID, your IP address, your chat and what happens in your matches.
- Your name and match stats are public, on this site and in our Discord.
- No ads, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.
- PayNow handles payments, so we never see your card.
- Email us any time to see or delete your data.
Who we are
MCS is a Minecraft soccer server run by a small team. In this policy, "MCS", "we" and "us" mean that team. It covers the server at play.mcsoccer.net, this website, our Discord server and bot, and our store.
We decide how your data is used, so we're responsible for it. You can reach us at mcsoccersupport@gmail.com or on Discord.
What we collect
When you play
- Your Minecraft username, UUID (your account's ID) and skin, which Mojang gives us when you log in.
- Your IP address, to stop ban dodging and alt accounts and keep the server safe.
- Your chat messages and commands, which the server keeps in its logs.
- Everything that happens in your matches: goals, assists, passes, saves, tackles, ratings, ranked Elo and results.
- Your settings, cosmetics, titles and Sapphires, with a history of what you've bought and spent.
- Reports you send or receive, and staff notes on mutes and bans.
Voice chat
Voice chat goes through the server straight to the players near you. We don't record it. To talk, you need a linked Discord account, so staff know who's speaking.
When you link Discord
We save your Discord user ID and username with your Minecraft account. That's how we give you roles and badges and open voice chat.
On our Discord server
Our bot keeps your Discord ID and who invited you, for invite races, which also check how old your Discord account is. It keeps the reports and commands you send it too.
When you talk to Gaffer Pete or Kit Man Kev
These lobby characters are AI. What you say to them is sent to Anthropic, the company behind Claude, along with your name and public stats, so they can answer. We keep a log of these chats so staff can check them. Don't tell them anything private.
When you buy something
PayNow runs the checkout and is the seller for every order, so it handles your payment details and we never see your card. PayNow tells us what was bought, which Minecraft account it's for and the order ID.
To deliver purchases, the PayNow plugin on our server also sends PayNow the IP address and UUID of each player who joins. PayNow's Privacy Policy covers how it uses them.
When you visit this site
This site has no accounts, ads, analytics or cookies. To show its pages, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts, player skins from mc-heads.net and minotar.net, and live stats from our servers through Cloudflare. Like any website you visit, these services see your IP address. The site itself is hosted on GitHub Pages.
How we use it
- To run matches, stats, leaderboards, ranked and tournaments.
- To deliver what you buy and keep a record of it.
- To moderate: handle reports, stop cheats and alt accounts, and enforce bans.
- To give Discord roles and badges and run invite races.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To fix bugs and keep everything running.
We don't sell your data, rent it out or use it for ads.
If you're in the EU or UK, the law asks us to name our reasons. We use your data to provide the service you asked for, for our legitimate interest in running a fair and safe server, and to meet legal duties like keeping payment records.
What's public
Some of MCS is meant to be seen. Your Minecraft name, skin, matches, stats, ratings, ranked Elo, club and tier list placement show on this site, through our public API, in our Discord channels and on boards in game. Anyone can see them, no account needed.
How long we keep it
- Match records and stats: as long as MCS runs. They're the server's history.
- Server and chat logs: as long as they're useful for moderation.
- Bans, and why they were given: as long as the ban lasts.
- Purchase records: as long as tax law requires.
- Your Discord link: until you unlink.
Your choices and rights
- Unlink your Discord any time with
/link unlinkin game. - Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it. Email mcsoccersupport@gmail.com with your Minecraft name. We may ask you to prove the account is yours, for example by typing a code in game. We'll answer within 30 days.
- When you ask us to delete your data, we delete or anonymize what we can. We may keep what we need for bans, fraud checks and payment records.
In the EU or UK, you can also ask us to limit or stop how we use your data or to move it to another service, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
In California, we don't sell or share personal information for ads. We don't track you across other websites, so "Do Not Track" signals don't change anything here.
Kids
MCS is for players 13 and up, the same as Discord. If you're under 13, please don't use MCS or give us any personal information. If we learn we've collected data from a child under 13, we'll delete it. Parents can contact us any time.
Keeping it safe
Only staff can see private data like IP addresses, chat logs and reports, and our keys and passwords are kept private. No system is perfect, so if something ever goes wrong, we'll tell the players affected.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes get announced in our Discord.
